in-cosmetics Asia returns to Bangkok
in-cosmetics Asia is returning to Bangkok this year. Over 200 exhibitors are predicted to sign up to present their latest products at BITEC, Hall 101-102, Bangkok, Thailand, on 2- 4 November 2010, representing more than a 50% increase on the 2009 show. And with the Asian cosmetics and toiletries market set to grow 16% by 2012, there couldn’t be a better time for the show’s return to the heart of the Asian market.
As always, the major industry players will have a presence at this year’s event, including Cognis, Croda, DSM and ISP Asia Pacific. In addition there will be a number of new companies highlighting their latest developments. First-time exhibitors keen to capitalise on the fact that Thailand’s cosmetic manufacturers import 90% of their ingredients and will include Breko, Cobiosa, DKSH (Thailand), Green Flower Cosmetics Company and Naturex to name but a few.
For the first time this year, the show will have an entire section dedicated to the industry’s most cutting-edge products, and with Thailand being one of the more developed Asian countries when it comes to cosmetics and toiletries, the timing couldn’t be more appropriate. The Innovation Zone will allow visitors to view the latest ingredient launches from the likes of Bioland, Croda, Mibelle Biochemistry and IRB whilst aiming to provide inspiration for their next product launch.
According to Datamonitor, Asia-Pacific accounts for 39.3% of the global facial care market, so it stands to reason that this area should play a key part at this year’s show. The Facial Beauty Conference will cover some of the three hottest topics in the Asian cosmetic market: anti-ageing, anti-acne and skin whitening. During the one-day conference a team of international experts will share their latest scientific discoveries and research findings with delegates.
With so many technical and regulatory obstacles to overcome, breaking into Europe can be a challenge for Asian companies, so this year’s event will provide delegates with a detailed one-day workshop on the EU Cosmetic Directive: Regulations for Exporting to Europe, led by Biorius’ Jean-Jacques Bourgois. Also new to the workshop line-up this year are two other training sessions, including Basic and Advanced Formulation training, both led by renowned Prof. Dr Johann Wiechers.
The comprehensive educational programme will conclude with another highly popular feature, the Marketing Trends Presentations. This year’s agenda will feature three streams: trends, country focus and practical advice, with highlights including “Natural Trends and Sustainability” from Kline, “Brands, Islam and the new Muslim Consumer” by Ogilvy and a presentation on the marketing opportunities opened up by the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement from Access Asia to name just a few.
Sarah Gibson, Exhibition Manager at in-cosmetics Asia, commented: “Set in the bustling capital of Thailand, the exhibition is already shaping up to be bigger than last year. The country’s personal care market is very dynamic and the outlook for the next few years is extremely positive, with Thailand’s GDP hitting a 15-year high at 12%, so what better time to take advantage of this lucrative market than with a return to Bangkok?”
in-cosmetics Asia attracts leading ingredient and raw material suppliers and allows visitors to discover new, innovative products and services whilst boosting their business, scientific and technical knowledge. Attendees can benefit from all the major players being under one roof by forming new strategic alliances with experts in the field whilst discussing the next big trends in the growing personal care market.
